The country is packed full of incredible cycle paths and cycle routes, and with a fairly landscape these routes are ideal for cyclists of all levels of experience. 

Zip-lining is a popular option 

Have you ever fancied flying through the air along a high-speed zip-line? Well, if you have, the Netherlands is the place to do so. In Rotterdam there’s a Euromast that has a 100 metre peak which offers panoramic views across the city, and that also has its very own zip-line that’s perfect for thrillseekers to whizz down. As well as being able to zip-line here, there’s also the option of abseiling down the building, which has become extremely popular with adrenaline junkies in recent years. 

Go rock climbing on the world’s tallest free-standing climbing wall

Did you know that the Netherlands is home to the tallest free-standing climbing wall in the world? Named after the legendary Excalibur – aka, King Arthur’s sword – this climbing wall is incredibly high and is extremely challenging for even the most experienced of climbers. However, for anyone with a passion for climbing and a love of adrenaline, it’s the perfect way to spend part of your vacation in the Netherlands.

The Netherlands are famous for their incredibly beautiful scenery and hiking trails, which are popular with hiking enthusiasts from across the globe. If you’re someone who is looking for an active holiday that’s a little more relaxed and less adrenaline pumping, then a hiking trip could be the perfect compromise.
